THE TAMING OF THE TONGUES (Part Two)
The Lord wants people from every language group on the face of the earth to have the privilege of hearing His Word in the language they understand. (Rev. 7:9-10) Workers spend years in learning how to read, write, and speak in other languages so communication can take place. This reality begs the question; If anyone needed the gift of speaking in languages, wouldn’t God give it to them rather than having us say words we do not understand to others who can’t understand?
1st Corinthians 14:20-39
Scripture does not record anyone speaking in tongues that was not in a public group setting. We do not find anyone praying privately or publicly in tongues. When you praise the Lord, teach the word, or pray in public, do so in a way that others can understand and be blessed. We do not need any selfish saints in the church!
